Mitigation of Climate Change is the aggressive strategy to reduce the emissions of Green House Gases and contain the global warming. The Adaptation to climate change is the defensive strategy towards climate change. Its mitigates the impacts of the climate change. As world is already delayed in acting on aggressive strategy and keeping the goals of reduction of emission  very low, the enemy ( Climate Change ) is already at our door step. The world therefore needs the defensive strategy.

The countries have now realised that we need both approaches . Mitigation and Adaptation. India has set up International Solar Alliance ( ISA) as part of mitigation strategy, where as Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure ( CDRI)  is the adaptation strategy. Both are international organisations. The ISA has two founding members-India and France. CDRI has 12 founding members ( India, UK, Australia, Rwanda, Italy, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Fiji, Maldives, Bhutan, Mongolia, Mexico ).  Both organisations now symbolise the power of global climate partnerships and contributes towards SDG17.

CDRI partnership now has to enhance infrastructure resilience globally. The world is looking forward to Third International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure later this year in India, and the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26.  It is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow from 1 to 12 November 2021 under the presidency of the United Kingdom.PM Modi reminds us that our relationship with planet earth is that of a mother and her child. Mother teaches how to eliminate the bad habits and how to adapt to good habits. That exactly is ‘ Nurturing’. As human civilization gets matured,  we have to take care of mother earth, so that  she will continue to nurture us. END
